Seth Miller
Founder & Partner

Seth Miller has spent the past twelve years proving that capital can generate both top tier financial returns and meaningful social returns.  Most recently as a general partner and member of the investment committee, Seth spent over a decade helping build DBL Investors' strategy, portfolio, and impact.  

 

Across two funds and $225 million of capital, DBL made 40 investments, including five IPOs creating $40 billion in market cap - Pandora (P), Tesla Motors (TSLA), Solar City (SCTY), FivePrime (FPRX), CareDx (CDNA); four M&A - Peninsula (J&J), eMeter (Siemens), Powerlight (Sunpower), Nextracker (Flextronics); and other companies like Revolution Foods, The Real Real, UrbanSitter, View, and SpaceX.  Seth currently serves as Chairman of the Board for Maiyet and acts as strategic advisor to a number of startup companies.  

 

Seth spent three years in Washington DC working on environmental policy issues for the White House and the United States Senate, and has degrees from the University of Pennsylvania (undergraduate) and Northwestern (Law & MBA). Seth has been a volunteer and significant fundraiser for the Painted Turtle Camp for children with chronic and life-threatening illnesses.

Dave Kashen
Founder & Partner

Dave Kashen has founded two successful VC-backed startups, Worklife (backed by Y Combinator, acq. by Cisco) and Wellsphere (acq. by IAC/Sequoia-backed HealthCentral). He’s also spent nearly 10 years serving as an executive coach to over 100 CEOs of fast-growing VC-backed startups.

 

Dave has trained leaders and consulted on culture at hundreds of startups. He created the first ever industry conference on the people side of running a startup, Unleashed. 

Previously, Dave served as an investment professional for SPO Partners, one of the best returning private investment funds in history and as an investment banker at Goldman Sachs. Dave earned his MBA from Stanford’s Graduate School of Business as an Arjay Miller Scholar, and a BS in Economics Summa Cum Laude from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

Dave has been a volunteer for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Big Brothers Big Sisters, the Hamilton Family Center and the Marin Suicide Hotline. He is married and has two children, Ben, 7 and Brody, 4, for whom he’s committed to creating a better world.
